About the Project-

The Putzmeister MT 1.0 Batching Plant played a pivotal role in the construction of Package 3 of the Dwarka Expressway, India’s prestigious infrastructure project. Commonly known as the Northern Peripheral Road, this expressway features Asia’s first single-pier, 8-lane flyover, a symbol of the country's engineering excellence.

Located in Gurugram, Haryana, this high-scale project was executed by L&T with the equipment support provided by JRS Infrastructure, a leading construction equipment rental agency.


Challenges/ History-

With a colossal concrete requirement of over 600,000 m³, the project demanded:

  1. High-volume concrete production
  2. Consistent quality across grades (M10–M50)
  3. Rapid deployment and reliable uptime
  4. Tight project timelines with a deadline of November 2020

Solution-

The project used the Putzmeister MT 1.0 (Skip & Compartment Bin variant) with:
 

  1. Twin-shaft mixer for consistent homogeneity
  2. Automated SCADA system for real-time control
  3. Modular design for quick installation and relocation
  4. Configured with 4 aggregates, 4 cement silos, 1 fly ash silo, and automated admixture & water systems

Result- 

  1. Peak production of 456 m³ in just two shifts
  2. 9,000 m³ output in the best-performing month
  3. A cumulative 90,000 m³ produced over 2,500 hours of operation
