Putzmeister successfully showcases AutoPouring at the Weissenhof.Forum in Stuttgart

Apr 24, 26

In cooperation with our partner ZECH Hochbau AG, the first high-profile construction site of the AutoPouring project was successfully concreted last Wednesday. Under the watchful eyes of the ZECH Executive Board, the clients, Mr Godel (Godel Beton), Dr Xiangyang Jiang, member of the Putzmeister Group Board, and a total of around 25 visitors, the floor slab of the Weissenhof.Forum was produced automatically.

The Weissenhof.Forum will serve as the visitor information centre for the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Weissenhofsiedlung – a model housing estate from 1927 that sparked the modernist movement in architecture, which continues to shape the way we live today. To mark the 100th anniversary, the International Building Exhibition 2027 is returning to Stuttgart, with the Weissenhof.Forum as one of the exhibition’s central structures.

In this special setting, the invited guests were able to examine several new developments and prototypes.

  • AutoPouring – automated surface concreting. The machine moves autonomously along a pre-planned path. The operator monitors the process, authorises the movement and continues to control the concrete volume. In special cases, switching between automated and manual modes is just a button press away.

  • AutoPouring over Edge – future-proof hardware for complex control tasks. AutoPouring is a pure software product, compatible with production machines featuring iBC + Ergonic Edge. The new Ergonic Edge handles the complex automation tasks and transmits the path to our Ergonic 3 control system. This ensures that digital processes, automation and control are sensibly separated.

  • Digital Material Supervision – live concrete temperature monitoring. Concrete at the wrong temperature leads to clumping, carries the risk of quality defects and must not be used if outside the standard range. This makes live information on concrete temperature all the more important; this is measured at the hopper and boom and displayed on a dashboard.
  • ConcreteVision – sensor-assisted concrete placement. To automatically regulate the concrete volume as well, research is being conducted as part of a master’s thesis into sensor-assisted methods for surface detection. This will enable the machine to coordinate movement and pumping capacity in future to achieve a particularly smooth finish.

The fact that four innovations could be successfully presented to the public is thanks to the commitment of the entire project team and all colleagues involved in the preparation, planning and execution. We would also like to thank our partner ZECH for their interest, cooperation and the opportunity to use such a significant construction site for the live demonstration.

Our partner ZECH has created a promotional video of the construction site, which can be viewed on LinkedIn: https://de.linkedin.com/posts/zech-hochbau_zeit-f%C3%BCr-innovation-am-15april-2026-wurde-activity-7452685700589748224-_ouP
