Putzmeister is also breaking new ground when it comes to digitalization. In future, the company will be offering Ergonic Edge, a platform that provides services such as remote service and remote access. Visitors can find out more about this Putzmeister innovation in Hall B6 at this year's bauma in Munich - from Monday, April 7 to Sunday, April 13.

Six years ago, Putzmeister presented a unidirectionally networked machine. This networking makes it possible to display data in the existing telemetry customer application, the machine cockpit, and to integrate it into third-party systems. The next step in the digital evolution is the Ergonic Edge platform: it enables bidirectional data transmission. This will enable the machines to send and receive data. With Ergonic Edge, Putzmeister is opening up a new field of possible uses, one of which is remote service

Remote service to reduce downtime and costs
The benefit of Remote Service is the ability to quickly analyze and identify problems by displaying machine data in real time. Conversely, these faults can be rectified directly by changing parameters remotely. Ergonic Edge thus contributes to prompt problem solving - without the need for a Putzmeister service technician to be on site.

Added value that pays off for customers
First and foremost, customers should therefore benefit from greater machine availability and efficiency when using Ergonic Edge in the future. Costs are significantly reduced thanks to remote troubleshooting without long waiting times for a technician. Productivity is also increased thanks to minimized downtimes.

"Unexpected machine problems are one of the biggest challenges for our customers. Our aim is to provide them with the best possible support with innovative solutions to minimize these critical situations and ensure smooth operations," says Sebastian Fuhrich, Head of Digital Solutions at Putzmeister.

Bidirectional infrastructure as a success factor for the future
However, the Ergonic Edge platform not only enables direct interaction between the Putzmeister service network and customer machines. Functions such as the 'teaching' of sensors 'over the air' are also planned: This means that a sensor is 'taught' to a specific environment or application. Another aim of Ergonic Edge is to create a basis for numerous digital and automated applications - including remote software updates.

"When developing the Ergonic Edge platform, we pay attention to the balance between rapid availability and technical flexibility for future applications. Our focus is on seamless compliance with the latest security standards and guidelines, for example to prevent unauthorized access from outside and to prevent the misuse of data," explains Marc Seifert, Putzmeister project manager for Ergonic Edge.

Experience a vision in reality
Visitors to the trade fair will be able to experience Ergonic Edge using a real-life application example: a live demonstration will illustrate the added value of Remote Service. Over the coming months and years, customers will find out which other applications will develop from this. As in all areas, Putzmeister sees itself as closely connected to its customers - and will remain in close contact with them on this development.
