One component of the Ergonic Pump System (EPS), Ergonic Output Control (EOC) is a technology that brings greater fuel economy within reach.
Control Your Pump’s Performance
For the lowest possible fuel consumption, EOC allows for total control of your pump’s performance from just one knob on the remote control. The fuel savings is due to the system’s automatic electronic control providing optimum engine RPM.
Using EOC means it is impossible to set full speed and minimum output simultaneously. After 10 seconds with no boom movement and the pump in the off position, the system lowers RPM to a preset idle speed until the operator selects any function, which then returns the engine to the required RPM. This assists in fuel savings, as most operators leave the RPM at maximum even when its not needed.
To take advantage of this feature on Putzmeister 52Z–Meter and larger concrete boom pumps, set the required volume using the variable output knob on the remote control. This allows you to control the output of the hydraulic pump from zero to maximum. The system regulates the engine speed to allow 75 percent of the maximum pump output at an optimal engine speed, thus reducing fuel consumption.
Require Higher Performance?
If you need to accelerate certain procedures such as unfolding the boom, simply increase the engine speed using the speed plus button on the remote control. As soon as you use the variable output knob again, EOC takes over and brings you back to optimum engine speed.

In extreme conditions when very difficult concrete is required or small amounts of concrete have to be pumped at full pressure, EOC can be manually switched off at the Ergonic Graphic Display (EGD) ground station or on the radio remote.
Currently applicable on 50–, 60– and 70–Meter class units, the Ergonic system, including EOC, will be standard on all Putzmeister truck–mounted concrete boom pumps during 2009.
